North Pennine Dales Enterprising Food
Teesdale Marketing Limited (TML) has recently been awarded nearly £300,000 from the Big Lottery Fund's Local Food scheme for a three year project to support and promote the production and use of locally produced food in the North Pennine Dales area of North East England; a rural part of the North East between Hexham and Barnard Castle that is economically dependant upon agriculture and tourism.
Entitled "North Pennine Dales Enterprising Food", the project will be delivered by TML in partnership with the Teesdale and Wear Valley Enterprise Agency, the North Pennines AONB Partnership and several other local organisations.
Barnard Castle Farmers' Market
The self-sustaining and award winning FARMA certified Barnard Castle Farmers' Market trades on the first Saturday of each month in Market Place, Barnard Castle.
On April 1st 2010 Teesdale Marketing conveyed responsibility for the market to the Farmers' Market Management Group. Whilst TML continues to be supportive of the Farmers' Market, it is now managed, administered and organised by the stallholder management group.
