We are not a business or social club and we do not market or provide financial assistance to individual businesses.
What we do...
We initiate, deliver and support projects of significant economic and social benefit to Teesdale in order to:
- Promote Teesdale regionally, nationally and internationally
- Bring increased business to our local enterprises.
We have done this by....
- Producing literature to promote Teesdale as a quality destination
- Creating an award-winning multilingual website to promote Teesdale
- Creating and maintaining an online Events Calendar and producing the Teesdale Events Guide
- Arranging Teesdale familiarisation visits (FAMs) for tour operators, travel writers, etc.
- Attending travel trade shows
- Developing the Teesdale Brand
- Working with partners to create the on-line Gateway to Teesdale www.teesdale.co.uk
- Promoting the production and use of locally grown/made food and crafts
- Creating a local food website
- Starting, developing and continuing to support the award-winning Barnard Castle farmers' market
- Initiating and developing the Teesdale and Wear Valley Food Festival
- Continuing to support the continuing development of the Teesdale Food Festivals at The Bowes Museum
- Helping to raise the skills levels of Teesdale residents / businesses through a skills development programme
- Managing the maintenance of the Barnard Castle flower tubs sponsored by Teesdale businesses / residents, the Christmas trees on premises in the town and large Christmas trees on the Market Place toilets and bottom of The Bank
- Organising a Christmas Festival
- Promoting The Bank's antiques, arts and crafts businesses
- Helping to get the first stage of the Hamsterley Trailblazers project completed
- Commissioning a feasibility study into a proposed rope suspension bridge for Teesdale
