About Us...

Teesdale Marketing is an independent, not-for-profit company, run by volunteers, which was formed in 1998 to promote Teesdale.

We are local residents, private businesses and representatives from local community / public sector organisations.

We are not a business or social club and we do not market or provide financial assistance to individual businesses.

What we do is initiate, deliver and support projects of significant economic and social benefit to Teesdale in order to:

• Promote Teesdale regionally, nationally and internationally
• Bring increased business to our local enterprises.

What we do

• Produce literature to promote Teesdale as a quality visitor destination
• Arrange Teesdale familiarisation visits (FAMs) for tour operators, travel writers, etc
• Attend travel trade shows
• Promote the production and use of locally grown/made food and crafts
  Provide support to the monthly farmers' market
• Assist the continuing development of the Teesdale Food and Craft Festival at The Bowes Museum
• Help to raise the skill levels of Teesdale residents / businesses through a skills development programme
• Manage the maintenance of the Barnard Castle flower tubs which are sponsored by Teesdale businesses / individuals and the Christmas trees on premises in the town
• Produce the Teesdale Events Booklet and on-line events calendar

• Helped get the first stage of the Hamsterley Trailblazers project completed.
• Commissioned a feasibility study into a proposed rope suspension bridge for Teesdale.
• Organised a Barnard Castle Christmas Festival
• Helped to promote The Bank's antiques, arts and craft businesses.
